Blue Ox Trail

Bemidji to International Falls

Length: 100 miles
Surface: Mostly dirt

The Blue Ox Trail, also known as the Voyageur Trail, runs from the eastern edge of Lake Bemidji to International Falls. Much of its route runs along the Voyageur Highway (US Hwy 71).

This dirt trail is more remote and rugged than the Paul Bunyan Trail. It is mostly used by ATVs, and snowmobiles in the winter. Don't try it with a road bike.

Before embarking on the Blue Ox trail, check the Minnesota DNR link below for possible detours and trail conditions.

The Blue Ox Trail passes through the towns of Tenstrike, Blackduck, Funkley, Northome, Big Falls, Littlefork, and International Falls.
