About Milford

The D&R trail ends abruptly just over a mile south of Milford. To get to Milford, follow the gravel road at the end of the trail to Frenchtown Road, and turn left on Frenchtown Road to head north for about a mile. Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania is just across the river from Milford, via an easy ride over the bridge. In Upper Black Eddy, you can catch the Delaware Canal Towpath Trail, which can take you to Allentown PA via Easton (32 miles), or to Bristol PA to the south (43 miles).
There is a shoulder along most of the route on Frenchtown Road, between the end of the D&R and Milford - but be aware that there are some sections without a shoulder:
